Balsamroots are one of the Methow Valley's most distinctive and flamboyant flowers. If you visit in April you will see hillsides around the valley absolutely carpeted in these delicious yellow flowers. Here is a sneak peak at some of their interesting life history strategies.

This video is part of an ongoing series of videos on the common flowers of the Methow Valley. This project started in 2021 with a small grant from the Mary Kiesau Community Fellowship Fund and there are now eight videos with more on the way.
