How to Set Up and Program an LCD on the Arduino

hello and welcome back to creative stuff..

In this video we are going to connect and test an 16x2 LCD display with ARDUINO UNO..

For the LCD display to work with arduino we are going to need the lcd we will need the liquidcrystal library of the arduino ide...we dont need to download the library ,you can find it in examples of your arduino IDE.You can use LCD display of any configuration to work with arduino using this library.

To make the LCD display work with arduino we are going to need(I have used) the following components:-
1 Breadboard
2 Arduino UNO
3 16X2 LCD display
4 10K potentiometer
5 connecting wires
6 powersupply for arduino and LCD display

Here is the full pin connections of the 16x2 LCD display:-
pin 1----------GND---------Arduino GND
pin 2----------VCC---------Arduino 5V
pin 3----------VEE---------Middle pin of 10K pot
pin 4------reg. select-----Arduino pin 12
pin 5------readd/write-----Arduino GND
pin 6------data enable-----Arduino pin 11
pin 7--------data 1--------not used
pin 8--------data 2--------not used
pin 9--------data 3--------not used
pin 10-------data 4--------not used
pin 11-------data 5--------Arduino pin 4
pin 12-------data 6--------Arduino pin 4
pin 13-------data 7--------Arduino pin 3
pin 14-------data 8--------Arduino pin 2
pin 15-------BL LED+-------Arduino 5v
pin 16-------BL LED- -------Arduino GND
