Wow, the Outlander Season 8 panel at Comic-Con was incredible! They dropped the first teaser trailer and it was so emotional—total chills. It flashed back to all these iconic Jamie and Claire moments, and then hinted that Jamie might die in the war.

Sam Heughan was there with Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin, plus the showrunners Maril Davis and Matthew B. Roberts. Caitríona Balfe couldn’t make it but sent in this really touching video message. Oh—and Sam showed up with a buzz cut and blonde beard! Totally different look. There was this amazing live performance of “The Skye Boat Song,” and they ended the panel with bagpipes playing “Scotland the Brave,” which was such a perfect tribute. And they also gave us a sneak peek of the new prequel, Blood of My Blood, about Jamie and Claire’s parents—it’s premiering August 8, and they already renewed it for Season 2. I left feeling emotional but super excited for what’s coming next.
