The Reality of Climate Change: What Can We Do | Karen Ibasco | TEDxYouth@PSHSMain

In this talk, Medical Physicist and winner of Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco shares her journey as an advocate for climate action, and how any global citizen can contribute to caring for the environment. Karen Ibasco started advocating for energy conservation when she won Miss Earth Philippines in 2017. After becoming Miss Earth 2017, the scope of her advocacy widened as she participated in climate change conferences, delivered environmental talks, and educated students internationally. She has also joined non-government organizations including Conservation of Ocean’s Resources and Aquatic Life (CORAL), Plastic Solutions, and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Philippines. She is the youth ambassador of the Climate Change Commission. Last September, she represented the Philippines as the first youth ambassador in the Youth Climate Summit held in the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
