The Endless Icefjords of Iceland - Stage 1 - Indoor Cycling Training

Описание к видео The Endless Icefjords of Iceland - Stage 1 - Indoor Cycling Training

Iceland has a huge number of fjords, but the Ísafjarðardjúp fjord (Meaning the ‘Icefjord’s Deep) is the longest and biggest. Because of its vast size (76 km long), it has many smaller fjords within it. It is so big, it almost feels like the fjord is endless and never stops. This ride starts out, at the very bottom of the fjord. Here you get to ride with exceptional views of deep fjords, pristine rivers, snowcapped mountains, and glaciers. The road is mainly flat, but has one hill climb. Often you can enjoy flowers on the side of the road. Besides riding along the main fjord (Ísafjarðardjúp), you also ride some of the side fjords (Ísafjörður, Reykjarfjörður and Mjóifjörður). All in all, a unique and exciting remote cycling experience that should be on all cyclists' virtual bucket list.

In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a very fit cyclist. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.

Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app transforms your effort into speed and lets you ride the ride as if it were a real outdoor ride. With the app, you get a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on YouTube. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data such as altitude, distance, speed, heart rate, etc. displayed during the training session.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute YouTube and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, YouTube, etc.) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.
