How Tough is it to Climb Mt. Rinjani? | Lombok, Indonesia

Описание к видео How Tough is it to Climb Mt. Rinjani? | Lombok, Indonesia

Having hiked Kilimanjaro at 5,895m, we thought Mt. Rinjani would be a piece of cake at 3,726m. Unfortunately, due to a combination of extremely windy conditions and the slippery trail, it was actually a lot harder than we thought it was going to be. We made it around sunrise, but instead of being greeted with an epic view all we got was a damp cloud...

The experience was worth it anyways, and if you want to try it yourself you can do so for fairly cheap. Instead of booking a tour online, it's recommended to get to the town of Senaru first and ask around as you'll be able to score a better deal that way.

You can get to the island of Lombok via ferry, fastboat, or plane from Bali. If you're up for an adventure and you have time to spare, we recommend the cheap public ferry which you can get to by taking a taxi to Padang Bai from anywhere in Bali.

We booked our tour through our homestay, Embun Rinjani (which was also a really great homestay for the value!) Our tour was just OK, we had a few issues with communicating with our guide due to his poor English but other than that, they provided everything we needed and carried tents so that's good enough. Definitely good for the price we paid.
