Whinlatter Forest, The Altura Trail... what can I say...

As you can see, the Altura Trail at Whinlatter ticks all my boxes. It’s a Red graded route with some excellent Black extras. It’s a fair drive for me to get there, but totally worth the travel time.

I crashed twice, first time in over a year, the climbs in wet slate / rock are interesting to say the least.

The descents though, oh my, I was riding it unseen, I’d never been there and the lines were super fast - if you got familiar with the trail, wowser could you get serious speeds up.

Go and visit and ride the place!

There’s a cafe and loads of non bike things to do as well (Covid dependent 😏)
