Today's video features training and demonstrations in Onoha Ittoryu at Koudoukai Kendojo. The interview is with Master Reidou Kuriyama Shihan (免許皆伝).

The first ten kata are shown and the profound meaning of the first three are explained. These include critical concepts such as Kiri-otoshi. It is said that if you master Kiri-otoshi then you have "graduated" and there is nothing more to learn - you have become a master (免許皆伝).

Ogawa Chutaro Sensei
1901-1992. Kendo Hanshi 9th Dan. Metropolitan Police Department Kendo Chief Master. Kodokai Supreme Master. Ono School Itto-ryu Master (免許皆伝). He was also an advanced practitioner of Zen, and he taught "Kenzen-ichimi" Kendo.
