In a significant breakthrough, the team of Southern Range, Crime Branch, has arrested a wanted criminal Atulesh Kumar @ Vickey, who was evading arrest in a sensitive POCSO case registered at PS Narela, Outer North District.
Incident
On 27.07.2025, a case was registered at PS Narela under Sections 64(2), 78, 351 BNS & 6/12 POCSO Act on the complaint of a minor girl, who alleged that the accused had raped her multiple times and also threatened her with dire consequences. Despite sincere efforts by the local police, the accused had been absconding since the registration of the case.
Team & Operation
Recognizing the gravity of the offence and urgency to apprehend the accused, a dedicated team comprising SI Rajesh Kumar, ASI Jagat Singh, ASI Krishan Kumar, HC Sanjay, under the leadership of Inspector Vijay Pal Dahiya and overall supervision of ACP Girish Kaushik, was formed.
On 05.08.2025, actionable intelligence was received at the Crime Branch/Southern Range office regarding the presence of the accused Atulesh Kumar @ Vickey (Age 23 years) near Badarpur Border, Mathura Road, New Delhi. Acting swiftly, the team conducted a raid at the identified location and successfully apprehended the accused.
Further legal proceedings are being carried out.
