Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky examines the patient’s reflexes in the arms and legs. He uses a 128 Hz tuning fork to assess different aspects of sensation related to numbness and tingling. The gait assessment involves standing from a seated position and then walking for a few steps.

Dr. Tarnopolsky is a neuromuscular specialist and the Director of Neuromuscular and Neurometabolic Clinic at McMaster University.
