Hello everyone!
I'm back once again, this time with a Baldur's Gate 3 fan song focussed on Wyll Ravengard and his backstory! Whilst I'm not usually drawn to the heroic type, I found myself pulled in by his inner conflict and the struggle faced by a noble, chivalrous main having to contend with the whims of a devil for the greater good.
This song focusses on the events before the Nautiloid, building up to how he made his deal with Mizora and his subsequent disowning by his father, Duke Ulder Ravengard.
I have a few people I'd like to credit for making this video possible:
For the male vocals, I'd like to thank u/SloPoke0819 from Reddit, as well as my friend William Brilliant.
u/SloPoke0819 also did an amazing job with the mix for this and was so patient with me all the way through, accommodating all the additional requests and ideas I had, as well as offering suggestions that really elevated the final song!
Will has been a wonderful friend of mine and as well as provided backing vocals for this, he has been the DM for my D&D games. Thanks to him, I've been able to explore my love for D&D and ultimately venture down the path that led me to play BG3!
Finally, for the art, once again, Shibushio has made this gorgeous thumbnail and never fails to impress me!
Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoy!
Lyrics:
Behold, behold -
The Blade of Frontiers.
So noble, so valiant,
There’s nothing he fears.
Yet he’s leashed by a devil
And she whispers in his ear
‘Was this power really worth
Losing your father’s love, my dear?’
A blade upon the battlefront,
Take caution where I tread;
I'll cut each scheming goblin down,
And claim each devil's head.
Exiled by my own blood
I've long since left my city walls.
A hero's duty sings to me,
I’ll hold true to its call.
A whisper once pierced through the air,
Directs me to a cultists lair,
Their slaughter drives me to despair
And then I saw her standing there.
A contract clasped within her hands,
Mizora lays out all her plans;
She told me there would be a toll -
And all it cost me was my soul.
Behold, behold -
The Blade of Frontiers.
So noble, so valiant,
There’s nothing he fears.
Yet he’s leashed by a devil
And she whispers in his ear
‘Was this power really worth
Losing your father’s love, my dear?’
Bargain struck, the tides soon turned,
With the battle fought and won.
Yet her shadow went on haunting me
With the rising of the sun.
I never sought my father’s gratitude,
Nor shining accolades,
But such an ire burned in him
No words of mine could sway.
He said, “You know how I despise
Those devils with their putrid lies
And now I cannot recognise
The son that would serve by my side.”
And though I tried to speak my truth,
The contract bound me by a noose -
I knew that there would be a toll
And all it cost me was my soul.
A blade upon the battlefront,
Take caution where I tread;
I'll cut each scheming goblin down
And claim each devil's head.
Exiled by my own blood,
I've long since left my city walls.
A hero's duty sings to me
I’ll hold true to its call.
(Behold, behold -

Behold, behold -
The Blade of Frontiers.
So noble, so valiant,
There’s nothing he fears.
And though a wicked devil shadows
And torments him with a laugh,
Nothing will divert him
From a gallant hero’s path.
