Описание к видео Phuktal Monastery | Zanskar Valley

Phuktal Monastery or Phuktal Gompa or Phugtal is a Buddhist monastery located in the remote Lungnak Valley in south-eastern Zanskar, in the Himalayan region of Ladakh, in Northern India. It is one of the only Buddhist monasteries in Ladakh that can still be reached only by foot. The Phuktal Monastery is built around a natural cave, which is believed to have been visited by numerous sages, scholars, translators, and monks around 2,550 years ago. At 16,600 ft and on an expansive snowy field, the Phuktal monastery aptly signifies liberation. Emerging dramatically from a mountainside on the rocky part of a gorge of the Lingti-Tsarap Chu, a major tributary of the Zanskar river is the magnificent Buddhist monastery. There are homestays available at Anmu, Chah, and Purne villages. Purne village has a guest house with a shop too for buying general stuff and food items. There is a guest house with an attached bathroom at Phugtal monastery.#ladakh #zanskar #zanskarvalley
