This is the first of many IQ Pro videos to come focused on helping you Installers and DIYers succeed with the IQ Pro Alarm System. This video covers the basics of what you'll need to know to program an IQ Pro. For starters the IQ Pro is programmed using an app called the IQ Installer Interface. This app can be downloaded from both Apple and Google app stores, and can be used by anyone. When pairing with the IQ Pro, it will give a step-by-step tutorial within the app, but we also quickly cover it here.

Following that, once you have the IQ Pro connected to the app, you will begin with an install wizard if this is the first time starting up the panel. The install wizard will take you through the primary sections of programming, and for most people will help you program your entire system. However, there are some aspects of programming an IQ Pro that have to be done after the wizard, and those will be covered in other videos. In short though, the IQ Pro install wizard will perform tests on your system to ensure everything is good to go. After that you have the option to start plugging in information for both the wired and wireless sides of the system. Any wired modules can easily be paired and setup, and wireless devices will be enrolled after. If you're new to alarm systems, it may actually be better to skip the install wizard and use our videos for adding the different devices and sensors to your panel, but that is up to you. After adding all compatible devices, the wizard will walk you through a couple more steps before performing an update. Once the update is finished, you have the option of further programming your panel, or if you have everything programmed in, to just begin using the system.
