It has been insightful and personally meaningful to start this project. I know personally how difficult it is for oppressed people to get justice because I am of Filipino heritage. Dolores Huerta's leadership exemplifies the bayanihan (unity) value of the Filipino people, emphasizing the transformative power of joint efforts and community.
As I think back on the process of developing this project, “the Delano Grape Boycott: A Story of Labor Rights and Social Justice” strikes me as a historical event that is rich and complex. Through creating the, I was able to learn more about the political and social background of the boycott by exploring academic works and primary sources. I purposely added soft music and made sure all the pictures were the same color. Examining readings and lectures from the classroom through the boycott view gave me important new perspectives on how historical occurrences and current social issues are related. The creative aspect of the project, especially the choice to create a video format, allowed me to tell the story of the boycott in a creative way. Through this process, I became more aware of visual storytelling's ability to promote understanding and empathy among various audiences.

Under Dolores Huerta's direction, the boycott turns into an indication of hope for underprivileged groups fighting for respect and equitable treatment.
