Earlier, in association with Lighthouse, Susmita Das had presented "Dhitang Dhitang" a bouquet of 8 songs of our soil. The lyrics and music of these folk songs were inspired by the traditions and culture of different indigenous tribal groups of Odisha. Now, we are presenting a set of folk songs from coastal and rural belts of Odisha motivated by traditions, beliefs and ways of life having typical rendition styles and using conventional musical instruments. The album is titled “Kain Phoola Beni" which manifests the braid of the Mother Goddess of Village bejewelled by Lilies. Every song on this album is just like a divine lily embroidered in one braid.

Odisha is famous for its spectacular folk dance traditions. 'Chaiti ghoda' is a popular folk dance form performed by old fishing tribes like Keota (Kaibarta). The dance form is so named because it is mainly performed by Keotas during the Chaitra month of the Indian calendar year, which runs from March to April till the full moon in Baisakh.

The most remarkable aspect of this dance form is the dummy horse used as a prop. The dummy is constructed of wood and is painted in various vibrant hues. It is surrounded by colourful clothing. Two horses are used: one black and one white.

The fishing tribe joyfully observes this occasion for eight days to seek the blessings of Vasuli Devi. Whether men or women, the entire fishing community celebrates, dances, and sings with amazing devotion.
