Another conundrum for the prime minister to solve is the ongoing and incredibly distressing social care crisis.

Time and again over what's been a dreadful 18 months, we've seen carers and those they look after break down as they struggle to cope.

Boris Johnson thinks he can help and is expected to reveal how tomorrow.

It's believed to involve raising National Insurance, something he promised not to do and which is already causing anger within Tory ranks and the workforce.

But whether it's the right decision or not, it's one which urgently needs making.
