Описание к видео Parents to honor their deceased children

CINCINNATI (Angela Ingram) -- Parents who lost their most precious gifts came together for a special day.

The group "Compassionate Friends" will host its annual "Walk to Remember" Sunday, June 29, at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Jovante Woods was a stand-out athlete. His life was cut short at 16-years-old after he suffered an asthma attack. His mother has fond memories. Melissa Urbisci was the apple of her father's eye. She died as a passenger in a car at Harrison and Rybolt. Jovante's mother and Melissa's father share a bond. They're both part of a group called Compassionate Friends.

"I know that Compassionate Friends, they saved my life. It's a group of parents that have lost children and it took me about almost a year before I got involved. But when I did I knew I was in front of people who had the exact same feelings and thoughts and emotions that I was going through," said Chandra Baldwin-Woods who lost a son.

Sunday, Baldwin-Woods will join others in the group for the fourth annual "Walk to Remember." They'll gather at Spring Grove Cemetery to celebrate the lives of their children and participate in a 3K walk.

Michael Urbisci, who lost a daughter, said, "This year we've decided to have wishing lanterns that we attach messages to and we've also ordered butterflies from Florida. And when it's time we'll release them."

The walk is about supporting each other and learning to find happiness again, even after losing a loved-one.

Jovante Woods is the son of former Bengals' great, Ickey Woods. Registration for the walk starts at 9 Sunday at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home. The cost is $10 for adults and free for children.
