In Via Nebula, you seek to accumulate the most glory, riches, and prestige (represented by points. In order to do that, you and your opponents must cooperate to explore the world and uncover resources. You then want to ensure explored paths exist to help you move resources from their location to one of your building sites. Be careful though - anyone can traverse explored tiles, regardless of who discovered them.

On your turn, you may perform any two actions from this list (you may duplicate these as well):

Place a craftsman
Place a building site
Explore a fog space
Explore a petrified forest (this counts as both your actions)
Move a resource to one of your building sites
Erect a building

While constructing buildings is a good way to get points, you can also get points for exploring the board, collecting exploitation tokens by discovering resources, or by being the player that triggers the end of the game. You'll also want to avoid being too greedy when it comes to collecting resource - each one left over on a building site after you construct a building, or on one of your building sites at the end of the game will cost you a point.

Despite a slightly intimidating setup, gameplay moves pretty quickly, and there are also different maps on each side of the board, offering your gaming group a fair amount of replay. The mix of cooperative and competitive gameplay is also pretty uniquely executed , allowing players to easily stay engaged even when it isn't their turn.
