Battle Of The Hydaspes (326 BC) - ALEXANDERS' COSTLIEST VICTORY! ♠

When Alexander got to the Indus River Valley he met his challange. Porus of Pauravia. At the battle of the Hydaspes in 326BC, Alexander was faced with the toughest challange he has came accross. Not only was he facing over 100 war elephants he also faced a massive army. Outnumbered 5 to 1 he managed to succeed. But this was Alexanders' costliest victory.

Alexander was wildly ambitious. He wanted to conquer over 5 million square kilometers in a lifetime. But he was also nothing short of a military genius. His great victories at Gaugamela, Issus, Persian Gate and finally Hydaspes are a testament to that. By 327 BC, a mere 9 years after setting out on his campaign, Alexander had conquered an empire and all that was left to conquer from the old Achaemenid Empire was the Indus River Valley.
