How To Commit To Your Golf Swing - Every Time!

Описание к видео How To Commit To Your Golf Swing - Every Time!

Commitment is at the very core of optimum performance. Golf can be a very difficult game to learn to play and even for established players, this game continues to throw challenges at us. Invariably, for all golfers, we can succumb to the perceived pressures of the game and fail to commit to a shot.

Lack of commitment in golf presents itself in various ways, from a hesitancy to swing freely through the golf ball, to making poor club selections. Many golfers play wonderful golf on the driving range or in practice game but are unable to replicate these good results when it matters. Aussie Golf Pros demonstrate some of the common pitfalls, into which golfers can fall. From putting to driving, commitment is key to performance and reaching your full potential.

With chipping and pitching, we often see a lack of commitment manifested with overly long follow through. Clearly, quitting on any shot and having little to no follow through is a prime example of a lack of commitment. However, over-accelerating or ‘lifting’ a chip is also a common issue for club golfers.

Great golfers match the backswing and throughswing, so they are invariably the same length. This promotes consistent tempo and speed control. The finish position is often held, as the player watches the golf ball bounce and roll towards the cup.

We know that approximately 85% of breaking putts finish low of the cup. This high percentage demonstrates a lack of commitment to reading the putt fully. Golfers are fearful of aiming too far away from the hole, so they ‘play it safe’.

If you’re like most golfers, then most of your approach shot finish short of the flag. That’s not good course management. Bunkers and other hazards are invariably located near the front of greens, ready to catch out the non-committal golfer.

Excess tension and effort are also forms of a lack of commitment. This can affect your driving of the golf ball adversely, costing you distance and accuracy. Ideally, your swing should feel more like a practice swing, free and fast. Glen has a simple drill for you, to help you swing freely when hitting the golf ball.

Together, they are certified in Advanced Golf Coaching, Golf Psychology, TPI (Body-Swing Connection), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Personal Development and Skill Acquisition.

Steve and Glen are not ‘Method’ coaches. They recognise that there are literally 1000’s of ways to swing a golf club! Rather than try to ‘change’ your swing, their goal is to help You Be The Best Golfer You Can Be!

Skill Development vs Technical Changes

Although technique is an important factor in improving a golfer’s performance, Skill Development is largely neglected in golf coaching today. Skill is something that can be tangibly improved with proper understanding of the golf impact laws and effective practice towards improved performance.

External Focus of Attention

Most golf teaching involves an internal focus. Common suggestions might include increased hip turn, a still head or improved hand path. These are all factors of the golf swing, which many golfers and teachers consider important. However, as they are focused internally, on movements of the body, golfers find changes extremely difficult to process.
