The difference between "Cosmetic" and "Plastic" surgeons.

Cosmetic surgery is performed by many doctors who have no formal substantial training in plastic surgery at all. It's cheap and easy to take a quick class and start doing liposuction. Patients are completely unaware of the dangers they face having such doctors perform major surgery on them.
Surgical technique is complicated enough to master. Patient safety is even more important, and doctors who are inadequately trained in these procedures don't even realize how much danger they're putting people in.
