This recording project arises within the framework of "Performance", a Masterclass organized by SISME (Sistema de Formación Musical de la Brass Band del Ecuador) and directed by the renowned Swiss trumpet player Prof. Immanuel Richter.

Vivaldi composed the Concerto for Two Trumpets in C major possibly in the 1720s in Venice. It is his only trumpet concerto; it is not known for whom he wrote it. It seems unlikely that he wrote it for the Ospedale della Pietà, because the ensemble there comprised voices, strings and keyboard. It was written for the natural trumpet of the time; as a valveless instrument this was limited to the notes of the natural harmonic series which means that its music tends to stay close to its home key.

A manuscript was found in the Renzo Giordano Collection at the National Library in Turin, which holds much of Vivaldi's personal collection. It was first published, edited by Gian Francesco Malipiero, by Casa Ricordi in 1950. Vivaldi also used the second movement for his Violin Concerto in C major, RV 110.

- Immanuel Richter (1974) received his education at the Zurich Conservatory with Claude Rippas, where he completed all diplomas (teaching, orchestral and concert diplomas) with distinction. As a solo trumpeter he worked in various orchestras (Zurich Opera Orchestra, St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana). For 3 years he was principal trumpet of the "orchestra dell teatro alla Scala" in Milan, in summer 2009 he changed as principal trumpet to the Symphony Orchestra Basel. Numerous performances as soloist and chamber musician. Principal trumpet in the Gstaad Festival Orchestra (Jaap van Zweden). Since 2008 he is lecturer for trumpet at the Lucerne University of Music.
