Gilroy Stadium, located in Gary, Indiana, was a prominent multi-purpose venue built in 1955 and dedicated in 1956. Named after John F. Gilroy, Gary's first athletic director, the stadium was designed by the local architectural firm Beine, Curran & Hall. It was constructed to replace the aging Gleason Field and featured a seating capacity of over 10,000, complete with a press box, lighting system, and concession stands.

• Concerts and Performances: Notably, The Jackson 5 performed at Gilroy Stadium in 1969 during the City Wide Jubilee, marking a significant moment in the venue's history. Other artists such as Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Bobby "Blue" Bland, The Chi-Lites, and Parliament-Funkadelic also graced its stage.
In 2001, the Ku Klux Klan held a rally at Gilroy Stadium, which was met with significant opposition from the community, including police, politicians, and local residents who gathered to protest the Klan's presence.
