Locally based recovery workers are frequently thrust into leadership roles without formal support or preparation. These roles are an important part of community led recovery and while many rise to the occasion, the burden can be immense. People who are in these roles may experience unique challenges in navigating how to participate in their recovery as both an affected community member and as someone employed as a recovery worker.
