Are 7 Speed DSG as Reliable as 6 Speed DSG? | AskDap

Q - red182ek92 - via youtube - I had a question about the MK7 GTI. In 2018 the GTI used the 6 speed DSG, and in 2019 they switched to the 7 speed. My question is, I am looking at buying a GTI, and wanted to get one new with a warranty as I am a little intimidated by DSG horror stories. I wanted to get the 6 speed DSG because it has been used for many years in the GTI now and has proven decent reliability, but with the 7 speed being new to the GTI, I am more hesitant to buy one. What can you tell me about the reliability of the new 7 speeds? Does one FEEL better/worse at daily driving in heavy traffic areas such as Atlanta? I am willing to buy a used 18 with low mileage if you think the 6 speed is a better choice! Thank you! Been watching lots of the AskDAP videos on both channels, your explanations are great!
