Your 11 p.m. greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio weather forecast for Jan. 8, 2025: Sunshine has been limited so far for 2025. Thursday is looking like our brightest day so far. Lake effect snow showers will taper off through the evening. A Lake Huron snow band will persist out east. Ashtabula County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1 PM Thursday, 2-5 inches expected. Otherwise, expect decreasing clouds through the overnight as temperatures drop.

Most of us will be waking up to sunny skies but be prepared for a frigid start. Temperatures around daybreak will start in the low-to-mid teens. We only warm into the mid-20s by the afternoon.

Attention then turns toward our next storm system -- another winter storm that will move from Texas into the Tennessee Valley with heavy snow and ice for those locations. We will be on the northern end of this entire thing. A general 2-5 inch snowfall expected to move through ALL of northern Ohio around sunset Friday into Saturday. We have issued a Weather Impact Alert Day Friday evening into Saturday. Moderate snowfall rates will reduced visibility. be prepared for slick travel going into the weekend.

Another clipper system will move through to kickoff the workweek. Widespread snow will be likely to impact your Monday AM drive. We will keep you updated for timing and amounts.
