Описание к видео Meinhard von Gerkan - TIME SPACE EXISTENCE

In this interview conducted in Hamburg by PLANE—SITE, Meinhard von Gerkan, founding partner of gmp Architekten (Berlin Tegel Airport, Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Berlin Brandenburg Airport), expands on the history and pedagogy of the Academy for Architectural Culture (aac), focusing on its role in training the next generation of highly qualified young architects. Highlighting the importance of architectural education, he elaborates on his own journey towards a refined contemporary notion of simplicity in architecture.

Curated and produced by PLANE—SITE, this video series features interviews with prominent architects reflecting on the topics of TIME SPACE EXISTENCE, part of the 2016 collateral program at the Venice Architecture Biennale, hosted by the Global Art Affairs Foundation. The diverse roster of accomplished architects includes Denise Scott Brown (USA), Peter Eisenman (USA), Curtis W. Fentress (USA), Meinhard von Gerkan (Germany), Dirk Hebel (Switzerland), Frei Otto (Germany), and Wong Mun Summ and Richard Hassell (Singapore). The series was originally composed for viewing for the duration of the TIME SPACE EXISTENCE exhibition, but now continues to seek out the unique perspectives of accomplished architects on these universal architectural topics.
