Sadaf Amini is a Kingston-based Iranian Santur virtuoso. The Santur is an ancient Persian instrument similar in design to the hammered dulcimer. The sound is romantic, ethereal, and meditative. Sadaf will begin with a short history of the Santur and her personal journey of discovery and mastery.

Find out more about Sadaf and her accomplishments at www.sadafamini.ca. She is an acclaimed and awarded musician, gaining recognition at many international music festivals. She has collaborated with various ensembles at multiple international concerts leading to the following six album recordings: “Gar Chehre Benmayad” by Mohammadreza Fayaz, “Khayam and Minimal” by Pooria Shivafard, “Rishe Dar Khak” by Masih Tahvildari, “Bird Dance” by Farnaz Ohadi; as well as solo albums: “12 Pishdaramad and Reng” by Hossein Alizadeh, and “33 Pieces for the Santur” arranged by Mina Oftade, and the album “Flow” by Sadaf Amini. Currently, she is expanding her repertoire from traditional Iranian music to a more personal style that expresses my inner feelings.
