If a video tutorial is average, 10 people will watch it. If it is 10 times better, 10,000 people will watch it. A Spoken Tutorial is a 10 minute long audio-video tutorial. Spoken Tutorials are guaranteed to be suitable for self learning. The spoken part is dubbed into all of India's official languages. This makes it accessible for people not fluent in English, while retaining their employment potential, as the video is in English. An offline version of Spoken Tutorials is also available and hence those who don't have a good bandwidth can also learn from it. We have trained 4 million students during the past 4 years on various IT topics. The cost to the project to train a person on a topic works out to about Rs. 40. This method can be extended to other skills training as well. The Spoken Tutorial effort is completely funded by the National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Govt. of India.
