Had a few requests on how to remove and clean buttons in fighting sticks. This video doesnt describe all versions of buttons, I mainly focus on sanwa buttons here but hopefully this will be able to help.

Simply replacing the buttons is an easy way out and isnt maintenance, its replacement.

If you have a buffing tool for buttons that is a very nice way to go, if you dont than this should work for you just fine.

Also, here is a very old video on how to clean up your joysticks as well, keep in mind this is an old video and was mainly used to demonstrate the cleaning of super neo 29 but it should work for most joysticks:
