Jamie has completed chemotherapy, undergone a mastectomy with lymph node removal, recovered, and is prepped to begin radiation.

When it comes to cancer treatment, the path isn’t always linear. Our bodies all respond differently, and Jamie’s experience reflects that reality. From an infection at her port site before chemotherapy, to fluid retention that delayed radiation, to the day-to-day exhaustion that comes with treatment—she has faced each challenge with resilience and determination. At the same time, Jamie wants others going through similar struggles to know they aren’t alone.

Jamie also explained the relief of receiving care close to home—knowing her providers, avoiding long drives, and getting answers quickly when questions arise. As she begins radiation, we will continue to rally around her. And like Jamie, we encourage everyone to stay up to date on preventive screenings.
