How Hard is the University of Chicago?

There's a common phrase that UChicago is where "fun goes to die". The University of Chicago is known for its difficult workload and stressful academics — but is it actually the death of fun? This is just my personal opinion, and in no way am I speaking for the rest of the school, but I hope that this clarifies what exactly the workload is like at the college!
