In this tutorial I'm going to explain why it's important to remove the WordPress backup zip files from your server. This move is great for WordPress security.

A lot of WordPress backup plugins create zip files that are stored on your website's server. The trouble is, if a hacker gains access to your server they can infect your website backups.

So if you ever have to restore your website the malicious code will be in your backup fiels which means that you'll infect your website when you restore. It's a pretty sneaky hacker trick.

To prevent this hack all you have to do is download the zip files from your server and store them on your computer, or in a cloud storage service like Dropbox or Google Drive. Hack prevention goes a long a way, so get to it!
