The Libreria Acqua Alta is located in a particular corner of Venice, not terribly far from the most obsessive tourist flows, but at the same time close to one of the most beautiful churches in Venice, the Church of Santa Maria Formosa.


However, the particularity is not the place where it is located, but how it was conceived.


Considering that when high water seems to pose a potential threat, this quaint little bookshop is equipped with a series of elements that can float, a Gondola, an unused boat and even a bathtub, all floating things completely covered by books. Books of every genre, books on Venice, obviously because tourists are very attracted by the specific nature of the place, adventure books, mystery books, and also in the two courtyards there are old encyclopaedias that are now outdated, but which act as a ladder to see beyond the boundary lounging against the adjacent canal, where visitors climb vertically up the peeling walls.
