Please activate the HD function(720p) before watching the video or watch it with a larger type player (in 480p).

The popular tune "That''s you, baby" was featured in "Fox Movietone Follies of 1929" an all talking, all singing, all dancing extravaganza....

Many versions of this tune were recorded in languages as diverse as French or Polish.

The version featured in this video was recorded by the great Jack Hylton - together with Bert Ambrose one of my favourite English big bands....

A fantastic website dedicated to Jack Hylton - including a discography can be found here :
http://www.jackhylton.com/

The video features images and sequences of London in the 1920s and early 1930s including St. Paul's Cathedral, London Bridge, Regent Street, Buckingham Palace, the West End etc...

A version of "That's you, baby" by Jack Payne and the BBC Dance Orchestra can be found in my channel here :

About the record :

London,
Small Queen's Hall
26/07/1929

Record in quite good condition, however with the usual HMV problems : an enormous amount of crackle, very pronounced "s" and "t" sounds....

This record was recorded with an Ortofon Om78cartridge and stylus. The equalization (Westrex) and restoration was done as truthfully as possible
