Augustine Chan is a student at Raffles Institution in Singapore. He has been offered a place in a selective Geopolitics course at the National University of Singapore, Asia’s top-ranked university, for his achievements in History and Geography. During the course, Augustine wrote two notable papers: “Israeli-Palestinian Peace: A Conflict of Incompatible Nationalisms?”, and “A Geo-economic Zero-Sum Game” on the hydro-politics of the Crimean Canal.

In addition to that, Augustine has also been recognised as a Next Gen. Young Leader and Publisher by an international think-tank, Next Gen. Global Frontier, where he contributes to shaping the next generation of global governance. His experience includes being one of the youngest club leaders at Touch Young Arrows (TYA), where he directed tutoring, value-driven activities, and physical exercises for 30 children, providing a safe space for them. Augustine co-founded Project Auxilia, an initiative to provide education to underprivileged children by partnering with organisations like the Singapore Indian Development Association, Rental Hearts, Touch Young Arrows, and Project Rainbow. Additionally, he served as a Community of Care Intern with Lions Befrienders (Eldercare) and as the Regional Coordinator and Liaison for The Signpost Project.

At the CCIR Academy, Augustine's research project, "Measuring Success: Evaluating Bhutan's Gross National Happiness Development Policies as a Model for Degrowth in Developing Nations," examines Bhutan's unique approach of prioritising well-being over economic growth. The study evaluates the effectiveness of these policies and explores their potential to inspire sustainable development strategies in other developing nations.

Augustine's recognition in the CCIR Academy reflects his dedication to research, with appreciation for the support provided by his professor and the CCIR Academy.
