Replacing AC compressor on Hyundai Santa Fe is not too difficult in our opinion. But in our case, because the NUT on the L-shape adapter/fitting which connect the low pressure hose to the compressor was stripped. Initially we were going to remove the entire front end which include the radiator bracket, condenser, transmission cooler, bumper etc., in order to have access to dremmel out the nut but we've decided to opt to a different method, much easier less removal of parts but time consuming. There is another hex type screw/bolt which connect the fitting which we can take out and then remove the AC compressor with the high pressure line still attach, and then remove the components later.
Our AC compressor still works, meaning the AC was blowing cold air, but the clutch was making grinding noise, so probably a bad bearing. We were thinking of replacing the clutch pulley which is easier but we were afraid to make mistake on the gap so we opted to replace the entire compressor. Besides you could buy aftermarket compressor for about $100 if your search well online.

On average, the cost for a Hyundai Santa Fe Car AC Compressor Replacement is $950 with $542 for parts and $408 for labor so if you are planning to do it yourself, hopefully this video can help you.
