The last generation Mercury Cougar was a sales disaster!

The Mercury Cougar is still talked about to this day. Back in the late '60s, these were absolute beasts. As time passed, the Cougar started to change, but people still liked them. Personal luxury coupes were a hit in the 70s. Come the '80s and '90s, while downsized, the Cougar was still very popular. 1999 would introduce the 8th generation Mercury Cougar and no longer was there a fire-breathing V8, there wasn't even a turbo added. For the first time in its entire life, the Cougar was now a front-wheel-drive 3-door hatchback. What was this car like? Watch and see for yourself.
