Dunne and Strong double teamed Eric Young to advance. In the final, The Authors of Pain faced Strong and Dunne. The Undisputed Era attacked both teams, ending in a double DQ. At Takeover New Orleans, Dunne and Strong, AOP and The Undisputed Era met for both the Trophy and NXT Tag Team Titles. Strong betrayed Dunne, hit him with the End of Heartache and Kyle O’Reilly pinned him to retain the titles and win the trophy.
