Augustin teaches himself (at age 13) a masterclass - Ask Augustin 31

For the 31st episode of Ask Augustin, I'm going to teach my 13-year-old self a masterclass! When looking through my files, I found a video from 1997, around the time of my 13th birthday, when I performed the Sibelius concerto for the first time, with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro, in Brasilia, Brazil. I remember how excited I was to perform this piece, which was already one of my favorites back then!

There are so many things I wish I could go back in time and tell myself at 13 - about rhythm and phrasing, about the significance of the harmonic tension and release, and also a lot about bow technique. To illustrate the points, I'm showing the same moments from my performance a few months ago (with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Eva Ollikainen).
