Learn About Colorado

Описание к видео Learn About Colorado

Colorado was the 38th state to join the union, and it's located in the central western part of the United States.

Wyoming lies to the north, Nebraska, to the northeast, Kansas to the east and Oklahoma to the southeast.

If you head to the southwest corner of Colorado, you can visit Four Corners, the only place in the United States where you can be in four states at once.

Colorado's history is long. For 13,000 years, it's been inhabited by Native Americans. Ute tribes still inhabit the southwestern part of the state.

It wasn't until 1876 that Colorado was officially admitted to the United States and Denver dubbed its capital.

Denver is known as "The Mile-High City" because it sits exactly one mile above sea level.

Today, the state is a hotspot for outdoor activity and adventures on all types of terrain. Stunning red rock formations can be seen in the south, arid plains are to the east, and the breathtaking Rocky Mountains can be seen throughout.

If you enjoy summer hiking, hundreds of trails await you and with varying degrees of difficulty: You can take easy strolls through shaded forests to lakes and waterfalls, or gear up for rigorous hikes in alpine elevations. After all, 58 of Colorado's peaks are over 14,000ft.

Since Colorado is in the heart of the Rockies, it's a mecca of ski resorts and cozy lodges. After a day of intense skiing or snowboarding, you can join apres ski festivities, which, of course wouldn't be complete without a craft brew from one of Colorado's many local breweries. So if you like good food, beer and outdoor activities, perhaps Colorado is the next state you should visit.
