Mseilha Fort + Highest Winery in Northern Hemisphere (BATROUN, LEBANON)

Описание к видео Mseilha Fort + Highest Winery in Northern Hemisphere (BATROUN, LEBANON)

Remote traveller Kristel Issa takes us to Mseilha Fort, a once crucial station on the road from Beirut to Tripoli near the city of Batroun. The fort was built in the 18th century (though some claim the strategic position itself has been used since at least the Crusades) atop a narrow limestone rock.

The second stop of the tour is Ixsir Winery, which is the highest altitude winery in the northern hemisphere. Ixsir derives its name from "iksir," the Arabic word for elixir. The founders chose this word to associate their brand with the age-old idea of a potion that grants eternal youth and love.

CNN named the traditional Lebanese structure where the company houses its operations as one of the most eco-friendly structures in the world.
