How to use Blender to enhance your 3D model for After Effects and Element 3D

This time I show you how you can use Blender to smoothen a third party 3d model.
Most of these models are optimized to use only so many vertices as are necessary. The modelling software like 3ds max can form smooth surfaces with the given vertices. But if we import that file to element 3d it's looking bulky and not that detailled.

There is a simple solution for this problem and the best thing... it's free. This solution is called Blender.
With Blender we can smooth the vertices.

The other problem we might encounter - the modeller might only applied one material to the mesh. But Element only allows material slots where it locates a default material.

This is also a job we can do with Blender.
I am pretty sure the free version of C4D that ships with After Effects CC is also capable to do this but I want to start looking deeper into Blenders possibilities.
