The talk today begins with some more general observations about the practices and cultures of reading. I then launch into a discussion of T S Eliot's essay, "Tradition and the Individual Talent", before moving into a discussion of "The Intimate Enemy". Unfortunately, there is some unexplained rumbling noise, which I am unable to explain, but nevertheless the talk can still be understood clearly.
