An Old Railroad Crossing. The Most 1960s Railroad Video I've Ever Taken.

Описание к видео An Old Railroad Crossing. The Most 1960s Railroad Video I've Ever Taken.

Living where I do, I can't help but feel blessed as a railfan. Not just in the sense that I'm never further than an hour in seemingly any direction from an operating or displayed steam locomotive, but that the closest railroads and single crossing to me are seemingly rife with the most wonderfully preserved pieces of hardware one could ask for. From the Great Lakes Central and their well worked and maintained, fully pre-1973 fleet, CSX and their working, glass-insulated signal lines and searchlight signals, and 2 of the 3 railroad depots which were built for my town surviving in preservation, one as the local museum that I work at, you can see what I mean.

This video marks one time I was able to capture several of these things, at the mid-century railroad crossing closest to me. Three 1960s Ann Arbor GP35 units, the old crossing, and two people riding shove. This truly was the most 1960s footage I have ever taken, and I hope you enjoy.
