Hello friends, welcome to my you tube channel Doctraveller MN. As you already know we are touring Koraput, a relatively unexplored destination in Odisha.
we came by Hwh Samaleshwari express to koraput on 25.6.2022. We stayed at Hotel Alishan. about 2-2.5 kms from Koraput. Hired Toyota Innova from Maa Thakurani travels . Day 1 we explored Gupteshwar Mahadev temple, Jeypore palace, tribal museum, kolab dam and park and Jagannath Mandir or Sabari Shreekhetra.
Day 2- We set out at 7.45 am to explore as follows
1. jaina temples Subai- built in 4th century by Jain traders this is a must visit place near Nandapur
2. Rani duduma falls- It's a great place for picnickers. Nestled between small hills and lush green cover you have to walk a km to reach the falls.
3. Batris singhasan, Nandapur- the throne of Raja Vikramaditya of Jeypore is kept here. As there are 32 steps to this place it is called batris singhasan.
4. Jalaput reservoir- This is 68 kms from koraput and is at Odisha Andhra Pradesh border. it is also a joint project of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh under Machkund hydro electric project
5. Machkund/ Duduma waterfalls- this majestic falls is also at Andhra Odisha border. It falls from a height of 574 ft/ 175 m and the surrounding valley is enchanting. you will love the place
6. Onukudelli power house- You can have a look at the way power generation take place.
we summed up our day tour with a visit to kolab bridge and kolab river.
