In 1962, the first Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna was conducted in Prashanthi Nilayam for the welfare and prosperity of the world. As Bhagawan said in His Divine Discourse on that day:

"Yagna is the destiny of every living being. Every being, from the tiniest amoeba to the most profound scholar, is perpetually engaged in sacrifice. Then, when life becomes sacrifice-filled, egoism will disappear and the river will merge in the sea.
Vedhokhilo Dharma Moolam (the Vedas are the root of all virtue). If the roots are injured, the tree will die. If the roots are alive, the tree can grow again. My task comprises protection of Vedas, fostering Vedic scholars, and establishment of righteousness."

Since this monumental declaration of His mission of upholding the Vedas and their deep-rooted meaning, Bhagawan performed the Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yagna each year following. This video presents the Dasara Celebrations of 2003 in Bhagawan's Divine Presence, including the yagna which is performed in the Poornachandra Auditorium. It begins with the grand procession of vedic scholars and Sai Students from Sai Kulwant Hall to the Poornachandra as well as footage from the first days of the yagna. The Poornahuti, which marks the culmination of the yagna on Vijay Dasami day, is then shown. The Poornahuti includes mesmerizing scenes of Bhagawan, the presiding deity Himself, performing the rituals. This is followed by Bhagawan's Divine Discourse on Vijay Dasami entitled, "Give Up Dehabhimana, Develop Atmabhimana". Please feel free to share with family and friends. Sai Ram!
