The Real Reason Why Seth Rollins Cashed-In On CM Punk At WWE SummerSlam 2025

CM Punk defeated Gunther to finally win another world championship in WWE. The Best in the World hasn’t had a belt in WWE since 2013. But he finally proved that he's still the best in the world tonight. Unfortunately, that reign would only last 5 minutes and 10 seconds because we would see the Ruse of the Century.

Seth Rollins played everyone. He faked his injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event in his match with LA Knight. And he returned tonight to cash in his Money in the Bank. He defeated CM Punk to become the world champion yet again. It’s basically what happened with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40.

Anyways, this was a shocking moment and there’s a lot of things to unpack. We need to discuss the real reason why WWE went in this direction and booked it like this. And we’re even going to talk about how this affects John Cena v. Cody Rhodes.
