Phillip had two weeks school holidays in the early October 2018, we went to the small town Waiuku, and explored the popular places in this region, such as Manukau Heads Lighthouse, and Awhitu regional park

Karioitahi beach is only 8 minutes drive from Waiuku town centre.

"Karioitahi Beach is a black sand beach located southwest of Auckland in what was fromerly the Franklin District before amalgamation. Karioitahi Beach's rugged and windswept environment is ideal for paragliding and is also popular for other beach activities such as surfing, fishing, horse riding, off-road motorcycling."
