Ford Flex 3.5L Engine Ignition Coil and Spark Plug Replacement and Tune Up

My 2009 Ford Flex developed a slight misfire on one of the cylinders. The symptom was a slight jerking or stuttering under acceleration. The problem started out very subtle then got worse over the course of about 1 year.

This problem did not cause an engine code to be generated since ignition problems require 2.3% or more failure on some Ford cars to throw an engine code. A Mode 6 (hexadecimal) scan tool would be required to read the cylinder firing data while driving. Since I don't have this, I decided to change all the ignition coils and spark plugs.

Total cost of job was $205 for parts and shipping from RockAuto.com.
